Alfred Bernhard Nobel, born on October 21, 1833, in Stockholm, Sweden, was a Swedish chemist, engineer, inventor, businessman, and philanthropist. He is best known for inventing dynamite and for establishing the Nobel Prizes.
Nobel came from a family of engineers and inventors. He held numerous patents for his inventions, with dynamite being the most famous.
